am not going to sit here and tell you that I am a professional fly tier/fly fisherman or that I am on this “Pro Staff” or that “Pro Team” because at the time of this writing, I am not. Nor, am I going to tell you that I fish a hundred days out of the year; although, I wish I could. And I am most definitely not going to sit here and tell you that I have flies that are distributed by the many fly fishing manufactures in the market today; at least, not yet. What I am going to tell you is that, I am simply a man who is extremely passionate about tying flies and fishing them when I get the chance.
Fishing has been an essential part of my life since I was very young. My Dad started me out at a young age. It is part of who I am. With the exception of a few years I have been tying flies since I was sixteen years old. I became passionate about tying flies in 2013 after my Dad lost a long hard battle to cancer. I used my new found passion as a way to get my mind off of things and get away.

Bunny Hoppers |
For years, the only flies I tied were the
Peacock Nymph, the
Adams dry fly and, the
Bunny Hopper. These flies covered everything I needed while fly fishing so I didn’t see the need to learn other techniques or patterns. Now I tie almost any pattern that grabs my attention and others I think are my own developments. There are so many patterns out there that you never really know if you actually created a new pattern or not.
My favorite of these hopeful developments is my Bruski pattern, which I will eventually share when I feel the time is right. The Bruski is a heavy nymph I designed to sink quickly to attract deeper fish in Stillwater. It was also designed to grab the attention of fish in deep pools of fast moving rivers and streams.

My favorite fly - The Copper John |
My favorite fly is the
Copper John. There is something about the flash of the Copper John that I find just as irresistible as trout do. My favorite place to fish is Pyramid Lake near Reno, NV and although I haven’t fished it a lot, the urge to catch a Giant Lahontan Cutthroat is one that drives me to learn more about fishing it.
I hope that I can offer flies, techniques and information that I have found interesting and that I can share it with others in a way that entices them to sit at a vise and tie flies or to get out and fish.
